Viva Voce – ‘Vee-vah ‘Voh-chey (Living Voice) is comprised of three vocal ensembles, Prima Voce, Crescente and Voci Nobili, currently being offered at the Greater Richmond School of Music (GRSM). Each ensemble will rehearse and perform at least two programs each school year. The Fall/Winter and Spring programs will take place in the last quarter of each school semester. Greater Richmond School of Music (GRSM) provides opportunities for string students who have at least one year of instrument on violin, viola, cello and bass to participate in ensembles at different levels. The String Ensemble is a beginning/intermediate ensemble for students who have 1-2 years of experience on their instrument, and The String Orchestra is an advanced ensemble for students who have been studying their instrument for 3 or more years. A number of schools in the Greater Richmond Area currently participate in the Greater Richmond School of Music (GRSM) Band Program. There are three levels of study in which students may participate. The Beginning Band is a beginning level group for students who are learning to play a band instrument for the first time. The Concert Band is an intermediate level group for students who have had 1-3 years of experience playing a band instrument. The Symphonic Band is an advanced level group comprised of students who have had 4+ years of experience playing a band instrument or have demonstrated a high level of proficiency on their instrument.
