The Greater Richmond School of Music (GRSM) will provide music instruction through private and group lessons at Richmond Prep for the 2017-2018 school year. Instruction for private study will be available for piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, flute, clarinet and saxophone, and group lessons will be available as listed below in areas of study including band (brass, woodwinds and percussion instruments), and piano.
Registration Forms should be scanned (or photographed) and emailed to email@example.com. Original copies and checks should then be mailed to Greater Richmond School of Music (GRSM), 9109 Dickey Drive, Mechanicsville Va 23116. Tuition is payable in full up front or in equal monthly payments. There is a one-time Family Registration Fee of $25. Please call GRSM at 804-442-6158 if you have any questions.

There will be NO CLASSES on Early Closing days or days that Richmond Prep is closed.
Private and Group lessons start the week of October 2nd.
Private lessons provide focused, one-on-one instruction with a master teacher. Lessons are scheduled weekly during the term and are offered in 30, 45, or 60 minute intervals. Recitals are included in tuition and will be held at the end of each semester for all registered students who are interested.

Group classes provide a high-quality foundation for musical study. Taught in a small group setting, these classes are an alternative to traditional private lessons and offer an exciting and affordable approach to beginning musical instruction. (Gr PK3 -K)
This fun, fast paced class jumps from one activity to another to adapt to your young child’s attention span. Concepts covered include: proper piano technique/posture, note reading, rhythm exercises, theory, singing (with solfege syllables), history, games, listening, movement, and playing with expression. Starting young, children can carry the gift of music with them for a lifetime! The term recital is included in tuition. (30 minutes)

Students may leave class with permission from Richmond Prep.

The Keyboard Musician class is a perfect musical start for your school aged child. Classes move very quickly into reading and comprehending music, based on each child’s ability. Concepts covered include: early note reading, singing (with solfege syllables), rhythms, pattern and concept finding, proper piano technique/posture, how to practice, theory, history, listening, games, movement, and playing with expression. The term recital is included in tuition. (50 minutes)
Day of Week: Mondays (10/2/17- 1/22/18)
Students may leave class to attend this group with permission from Richmond Prep.

Beginning Band (FREE TUITION!!)
The Beginning Band is a beginning level group for students who are learning to play a band instrument for the first time. Instruction is focused on developing a solid foundation in note reading, tone production, rhythm, articulation, proper posture/hand position, and instrument care and maintenance. Students also learn basic music theory concepts and ensemble skills, such as balance and blend. The minimum age to participate is 9 years old. No previous music experience is necessary. (60 minutes)
