Greater Richmond School of Music is pleased to offer a Chamber Music Program that provides an opportunity for musicians to interact in a small ensemble setting for all ages starting from 10 years!
The program will be offered at our Main Location on Dickey Drive as well as at our West End location at Little League Drive, and will include all instruments (piano, guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass, voice, percussion). Participation in the program is determined by an audition, with students placed in groups based on experience and age. Students will be asked to prepare scales and pieces that represent their ability.
Groups will include string duos, trios, quartets, piano trios, ensembles combining brass, winds, and strings, vocal chamber groups, drumming and jazz ensembles.
The coaching will be offered by our faculty members in Atlee and West End locations and will be based on a repertoire selected for the needs of the ensemble. This is a semester long program and classes will meet weekly for 1 hour, at a set time arranged based on audition grouping results and student availability.
Chamber music study develops group cooperation, personal responsibility, concentration and the importance of the teamwork! Join us for making music with others who love playing music as much as you do!
The first step of the process is to complete and return a registration form indicating your interest in Chamber Ensembles (flip side Group Class Sign Up). We will then contact you for an audition in September, and match each student with a relevant grouping. Tuition is shown in the schedule form below.
